Bill Beattie, Chairman

Bill Beattie is the founder and executive chairman of Jericho Partnership. Born in North Philadelphia and raised by his mother there, he was an “at risk” city kid who was mentored by his youth pastor and chemistry teacher, and he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord at age 16.

He is a graduate of Lehigh University, where he majored in metallurgical engineering. He also holds the M.B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh. He worked for Union Carbide in various marketing and management positions until, in 1986, he formed and became chief executive officer of Strategic Minerals Corp., a privately-owned mining and metals company headquartered in Danbury.

In 1996, following a profound personal experience, he sensed a calling to serve God among the at-risk youth of his community. He founded Pathways Danbury, which enlists men from several metro Danbury churches as mentors for at-risk boys (www.pathwaysdanbury.org) Currently, there are 40 boys in the program. Some 80 percent of the boys graduate from high school, and 80 percent of those go on to college.

In 2005, Bill felt called to expand his influence by assisting other Christian agencies serving the Danbury community, and founded the Jericho Partnership.
