Weekender Bag Program – Fighting Weekend Food Insecurity
Jericho Partnership launched our Weekender Bag program in 2022 after a school social worker asked for help feeding students who were going hungry on weekends. We quickly created a solution: bags with six nutritious meals to ensure children have food over the weekend.
Each bag contains easy-to-prepare, kid-friendly items such as oatmeal, soup, tuna, microwave pasta, peanut butter, granola, mac n’ cheese, applesauce, and more. Since its launch, the program has become a lifeline for students in need, helping families manage food insecurity while keeping children nourished and ready to learn.
